In my time at ARC & Magnepan, I don't ever remember hearing a bi-amplified set-up - at any price - that was as as coherent and as musically satisfying as the simple passive onboard x-over that Jim developed for the 1D's.
Heard some that sounded better in some ways, but ultimately, we always went back to the standard stereo amp set-up.
So I add my name to any list of folks who are interested to hear if you you find something better.
I haven't followed your previous posts, so please forgive what may be a question that has been answered. Have you addressed the parts quality (not the electrical values) in the existing passive x-over on your pair?
Best regards,
Jim Smith
