What everyone has said about using an inductor with a different DCR than the original one is true. However the solution is very simple. You simply use a different value inductor. A lower combined resistance of the inductor & woofer needs an inductor with a lower value.
Using a crossover calculator, I input the resistance of the inductor & woofer. Adjusting the crossover frequency until the inductor value given matched the stock inductor. This frequency became a reference. Inputting the resistance of the new inductor and woofer voice coil with that reference frequency gave me the value to use for the new inductor. You'll probably have to try a couple of different value inductors so the combined resistance and reference frequency give you the exact inductor mH you need.
