Hi Hoshi. Actually I never did do the MG-2.6 crossover on my MG-2.5's. Aside from the cost of a several more big inductors, I couldn't get my head around the idea of adding another inductor in series with the woofers making them sound better.
Oddly though, there seems to be a variation in the crossovers on the 2.5's. In the schematic in the tweaks section, it shows a single 15uF cap on the tweeter. On my pair of speakers, there are a 15uF and a 10uF in parallel on the tweeter. Right in between the 35uF of the 2.6 and the 15uF specified for the 2.5. I believe the inductor was the same as spec'd. Maybe a mid-run change before introducing the 2.6?
I have Erse steel laminated core inductors and they work great.
I use Mills resistors but am planning to switch to Duelund's in the future.
I'm also going to an ASC/Jantzen Z-Superior combo on the ribbons. I used this combo on my Quasi-Gunned MMG's and they absolutely spanked the stock 2.5's as far as inner detail.
I use wooden cigar boxes for my crossovers so I don't have to embarass myself by trying to build something nice.
