GREAT stereo beats mediocre surround anytime and Maggies do indeed do great stereo. What I mean by mediocre is not having the room space to optimally place five or more speakers. Watching a football game in plain 'ol Maggie stereo, I was amazed at the realism of the ambient sounds in the stadium. The crowd noise seemed like it was coming from the wall behind the speakers and extended from floor to ceiling.
