Oh I never said noise shaping was desirable, but since a digital amp is a 1-bit converter, it is mandatory. I believe that some (most?) digital amps also use PWM in order to perform better than a 1-bit converter. Its not practical to build a true multi-bit digital amp. Anyway this is what I can decipher from the manufacturer's literature.This is new technology which can be expected to improve rapidly. At present I'm sticking with a very mature technology - analog.
