RE: Regarding amps: power vs. quality

I still have not seen where you have measured a magnepan 3.6 in a large room, and I have carpeted floors, not a closet sized room with hardwood floors. Second, I measured and played music. Music covers the whole spectrum of sound. Try your output at frequencies at other than 1KHz. Try a 50Hz tone and measure the dB level. This is the real world condition where the amps run out of gas, not at 1Khz. I have replicated my tests with both 20.1 and 3.6. How many Magnepans have you tested? My 3.6 clipped with low notes on 4 Silver monos, my friends did with 120wpc V4's, and 70wpc amps on top. Try playing an organ with 30wpc.......not chamber music. Jallen
