These were meant for the early Tympanis.
They were passive electronic crossovers.
You don't see a lot of these passive electronic crossovers because:
(1) the impedance of the amplifier was critical
(2) they were preset to a particular crossover point at a 6dB per octave slope
(3) they introduced a noticeable insertion loss
(4) they generally negated the the advantage of increased dynamic capability from bi-amping because they seemed to compress dynamics.
Oh, and the prices are way higher than they originally sold at. Collector's item pricing, but not collector's item performance.
If you want an ARC electronic crossover from that approximate era, the EC-2 was dramatically better. It was active, used vacuum tubes, and was the best sounding electronic crossover that ARC ever made.
