I generally agree with your Apogee findings.

I was the third Apogee dealer that Jason Bloom selected in the early 1980s. Sold and installed quite a few of the original Full Range Ribbon model (my favorite Apogee, btw). We got their permission/blessing to bypass the passive crossovers and tri-amplify, direct-coupled. Woah!!!

I might mention that vertical tilt seemed to be less of a problem on these than with the later, shorter models. But it was still worthwhile addressing it.
