I have posted several times the amps I have tried with the 3.6, and will spare the list in its entirety, and I still go back to the Brystons. I am currently using the Marchand XM44, crossed over at 40 for the James 15 sub, and 200/250. The mid-treble is covered by the Bryston 4BSST, the midbass is with the 14BSST. Thus, there is about 1500wpc per channel from 40hz up, (4ohms) and the beaming or hot spots in the maggie treble disappear. The sound is much more liquid, transparent, and delicate. Very, shall I say it...tube-like. And yes, I have tubes. I have the Quicksilver silver monos, have had the v4's which were too dark for my taste, have tried CJ, and it was a good choice on top, and a custom made tube amp. I have not tried the Rogue 150's on top, but I will get some in the next few weeks. Some high power CJ's are also on the list to try. I am also anxious to try some of the ones listed above. As was listed, try before you buy. Do try the 14BSST and 4BSST in bi-amp though. Very impressive. I have friends with Legacy Whisper, (the latest), Avantgarde Horns, Vida Vox horns, Patrician 4 horns, some of these at 107dB sensitive, so keeping up with dynamics is a challenge. The extra Bryston horsepower does it, but a bit expensive...The more power the maggies get, they seem to get better. Jallen
