The MG-1s and MG-2s of that era (1977-78) not only sounded less smooth when reversed, they measured quite a bit worse.This wasn't even close to subtle. When reversed, they had noticeably uneven response. I do not know about later models when reversed, as I cannot speak to direct experience with them. I left Magnepan in early '79.
