RE: Under $1000.00

One of the great surprises for me was how good the Rotel RB1080 stereo amp sounded with the Maggie 3.6 speakers driving them full range. Aside from top treble softness and a bit of grain, the mids, midbass, and bass were splendid from a 200wpc amp. They can be had for 525-600.00 and they also have balanced inputs and RCA. A steal for the money. Also the PSE StudioIV at less power 100wpc is also legendary. The B&K 200wpc will also be good, but not as transparent, but still good. At just over 1k, the Bryston 4BST is superb, and I would look for this. Good luck, Jeff
