RE: Building the XM-44

I looked for the Maggy room, but I found out after they were near the Alexis Park...I wanted to see and hear the room, but didn't get there. I had too little time to find it. I asked several people and they had the same dilema. And our room didn't have internet access. Magnepan wasn't listed in the CES attendees either.
I would have liked one photo of the Xover to see the general layout and this would have been helpful. Having several bags of resistors was a bit of a problem when some of them were 3-4 resistors short and we had to re-order them. Marchand said they were having a problem with stocking them accurately...hopefully this will be fixed in the near future. The stock jacks look fine. Eventually I will probably replace them with Cardas Jacks, possibly the Rhodium ones. I have a friend who can get them for me at a very reasonable price, and Cardas wire. If you want some Cardas hookup wire, let me know. I have a roll of about 100ft not being used and I could send you about 10ft. which should be enough. It is litz, and teflon. Only problem is that it is all black. You would need to mark it. Also, it is litz so you need to know how to tin litz wire, a small problem, but a must. A little solder paste, a little smoke, a little solder and you are there. How do you like the XM44? Jallen
