The Quicksilver monos play so loud we cannot talk and be heard while music is playing. They play very loud. The tube preamp I used with the Spectron, Bryston, and ARC was the Quicksilver full function. The Quicksilver amps are the cheapest, full range Maggie driver I have ever heard. They list at 90wpc, but measure at about 120wpc at .3%THD. This out of only 2 KT88 tubes. I use JJ KT88's. The Winged C also work. The Sovtek are a bit softer, but run cool. I used Cardas maggy pins on the connections into the speaker from the silver wire. The silver wire was Vampire SL22 and made up of a twisted pair about 10" long. A sub is a must with the speakers as you know. The James EMB1200 and 1500 were wonderful. The JSL are also very good. Before dropping big dollars on an amp, get a set of Quickies and they will surprise you. There was an asylum member selling a pair. He was Jon at buzz1257@yahoo.com. He may have sold them or want to keep them. You might inquire. He wanted about 1100.00 If I recall. Happy searching, Jallen
