RE: Power for 3.6's.. do you think...

Greetings Leslie Loh,

Thank-you for your kind words and sharing with other audiophiles your experience which is similar to mine. I have heard the ARC too and they are indeed magnificent amplifiers with the Maggies. The Maggies sound just too thin with SS electronics with a few exceptions. Tubes have to get in there somehow.
One thing I did was to wire all the jumpers out of 10" silver and Cardas Maggie pins. I also use silver wire for speaker cable. George Cardas is a Maggie fan, at least he was several years when I visited the factory in Bandon Oregon. He was very kind and generous with his time. He had tubes driving his Maggies. Cardas cable also works great.
I share info. with other philes because I find many sell their maggies before ever really hearing them which is a shame. They chase watts and watts when there are good amps like yours, the VS110, the VT100, and other ARC models. I have so many people visit my house and they comment that they previously heard Maggies weren't dynamic and couldn't go loud, and they are pleasantly surprised by how they sound. They will never play as loud as many other speakers, but their magic is in the sense of space, realism, texture, detail like a live concert, and sensual shades of instruments. They just give me goosbumps....Happy Listening, Jeff
