I think if the Tymps were to be used along the short wall, the speaker would definitely have to be placed with tweeters on the outside. Otherwise, the reproduced soundstage width may suffer as a result. I usually prefer a wide soundstage so if this was my room, I would try them on the long wall with tweeters on the inside first. Along the long wall, the speakers would probably have to be placed closer to the back wall than what is optimal. Some wall treatment behind the speaker is probably going to be necessary as a result of the close proximity of the speaker to the wall behind.
There are guidelines in the T-1D owner's manual that deals specifically with room placement issues. I believe there is a copy of the manual posted somewhere on this site.
