Hey, my buddy has a Sonic Frontiers pre amp just like yours!
Did you ever try EI tubes in it ?
He has pinched waist and what he claims are CCA's.
However, I have found the EI tubes to be very musical.
A lot of CCa and Pinched waist are just Chinese and Russian knock off's, being sold as "used tubes" on Ebay.
Now, if you get REAL CCA's etc, thats great, but my experience is that the EI Gold Elite tubes are excellent, but pay extra to have em checked for microphonics.
What is your experience, so I can relay your findings to my friend ?
