RE: subwoofers for Magneplaner 1.7 in city apt.

If you don't mind a little DIY, look into the GR Research/Rythmik OB/Dipole Sub kit. The drivers used are the same paper cone woofers, but optimized for OB use. OB/Dipole subs are of course the best match for OB/Dipole loudspeakers.
