I like whump more than I do thump...

The only time I've ever gotten the sensation of "chest thump" from live music was when the music was being amplified by dynamic PA type speakers. With unamplified live music, shockwaves do exist but they usually feel and sound more like waves of energy passing over my entire body than they do "chest thumps".
