It's been a long time since I've had boxed speakers in my house, so I may have forgotten how they sound. But I do frequently audition various high-end audio systems in the show rooms, most of them with boxed speakers. Quite honestly I don't recall any chest thumps even though these are typically very large boxed speakers.
Are we talking inordinately loud volume levels required to get those chest thumps hit you? Like, at this point I've become curious and would like to experience how would that thump actually sound. I only remember the thumps I get when attending live rock shows, but these are terrible, muddy and boomy sounds that induce vomiting. so I'm not at all keen on hearing those. Especially not in my home.
