My favs

Jazz and Pop: (all CDs unless noted)

Sting - Brand New Day "A Thousand Years" (low bass)

Helen Merrill - w/ Clifford Brown "What's New" (tube mic is awesome)

Clifford Brown w/ Strings "Stardust" (again tube mic is awesome)

Joni Mitchell - Both Sides Now "You've Changed"

Woody Herman - Road Father "Fire Dance" and "I Got News for You"
(killer direct-to-disc LP if you like dynamics and transients)

Jacky Terrasson - What It Is (most of the album)

Dave Holland - Points of View "Serenade" (beautiful marimba sound)

Joey DeFrancesco - All or Nothing At All "Young Love"
(to hear a Hammond B-3 opened up all the way in hi-fi)

Jimmy Haislip - Red Heat "Los Feliz" & "Vaya" (very hot music)

Space Music:

Nomad by Paul Sauvanet (first 2 cuts)

Dead Can Dance - Spiritchaser "Song of the Stars" (awesome low bass)

Classical:

Mahler 3rd Symphony - Bernstein on DGG (opening)

Copland - Reference Recordings

Arvo Part - Ikos "The Beatitudes" (gorgeous)

Holst - The Planets (Dutoit on London)

Chiller on Telarc (the opening) if you want to scare the bejeezus out of somebody

Opera:

Most of my opera listening is from the 50's and 60's so hi-fi is not an overiding consideration but...this new stuff sounds good...

Dawn Upshaw - The World So Wide (the Copland and Floyd)

Barbara Hendricks - Negro Spirituals

Bryn Terfel - The Vagabond (exquisite dynamics)

So that's a very incomplete listing, but hey man, you asked for it :).
Boy, does this stuff ever sound great on Maggie 3.6s/Atma-sphere!
