This is my personal torture disc. An older Sheffield Lab recording that plumbs the entire range from almost inaudible to insane levels. The group named (aptly) named themselves Ondekoza (demon drum group). I use this cd to evaluate changes to my system to see how much closer each addition gets me towards being able to play certain passages without blowing something up in my system. I'm closer to this point now than ever, but I still have a ways to go.
Track #2 O-Daiko (Big Drum) features a drum with a 170cm head that weighs approximately 400kg and the sticks that the cover photo show are closer in size to baseball bats than any drumstick I am familiar with. The other tracks all present their own unique challenges to playback.
If you ever get your system to the point that you can play this cd at realistic levels without distortion or clipping please invite me over since I've never heard this but would dearly love to.
