Dejan Lazic, "M. Ravel: Retrospection" (Channel Classics CCS SA 17502--an SACD hybrid with a CD layer)A performance of Maurice Ravel piano works that showcases a Steinway D to good effect, particularly on "Valses nobles et sentimentales".
Earl Wild, "Piano Transcriptions of Gershwin" (Chesky CD32)
Wild's own transcriptions of Gershwin works, including a "Porgy and Bess Suite" and other show tunes on a Baldwin SD-10 concert grand.
Both recordings offer good tests of a system's ability to portray attack, decay, dynamics, and tonal nuance.
