A few times, mainly at shows. But I do have two outstanding memories.
First was many years ago at a show when I heard a pair of 57s driven by Luxman tube mono amps (EL34s?). The second was at my favorite local dealer at least 10 years ago. That was a pair of the then-current 29XX series, driven by conrad-johnson tube electronics. The room seemed like it might have been too small but a couple of vinyl classic jazz recordings sounded spookily real. I couldn't consider them, being beyond my budget.
So I can appreciate why Quad lovers remain so faithful to their performance. My Janszens may not be the same but have their own qualities, and were affordable as a nearly full range alternative.
