The boxes, packing material are incredible refrigerator size boxes! And they are strapped to a pallet. I have never had any issues with shipping the speakers.
The price was dropped to get them closer to the pricing in the UK. US dealers were loosing sales to UK based dealers. Like most audio products QUADs are cheaper in their home country. QUAD is produced in China but it is a UK based company.
The down side of course is the margin for the dealers went down as well. But it's a great deal for people wanting to buy a QUAD loudspeaker!
