RE: Quads, Should I Bother?

As kentaja said, a near field set up can work quite well with QUADs - especially '57s

I would also add, unless you have purpose built your listening room, every other room has aspects that will affect the sound, for better or worse.

The Room is the most expensive component in one's system
And generally most do not remember this or make decisions based on some version of an ideal that can't be realized in the given space.

I have listened to many different speakers in many different rooms. Some are a great match, for sound, but not necessarily for life...

I have loaned out my '57s, so until I repair another pair, I am 'stuck' with a mix of dynamic speakers that I also love-
I have the luxury of a room that I can dedicate to this obsession, and the appearance/arraignment of equipment can be focused for sound over life

They are wonderful speakers (the '57s), and can bring great joy
