Yes, that's for conventional speakers with physically separated woof and tweet. There, the coupling is electrical. Yes, on a single physical sheet there is a coupling unique to maggies, and this won't be in any textbooks or web pages.
It can have multiple effects, but one has to consider the tension in mylar between woof and tweet.
I don't have a full and rigorous theory yet, I hope the inmates can help really figure it out---or dispute it.
