RE: "Back-EMF"

I have not done this w/Planar speakers.
Works with dynamic drivers, though.

Carver sold an amp, years ago with a set of voltage and a set of current outputs.
The current outputs had a resistor in series. Different speakers preferred one or the other output.

That's what gave me the idea.
As for maggies? I don't know how much energy they store OR how to measure something like the 'Q' of a woofer. Also, I don't know how well Magnepan responds to tube amps with a very low DF.
Maybe, just maybe, maggies would enjoy a tube amp if one could be found with a reasonable amount of power and ALSO didn't cost as much as my house.
