RE: Frequencies at the crossover

I've been wondering about this for a long time. I'd expect an increase in intermodulation distortion at the tweeter owing to mechanical coupling and the fact that with a parallel network the tweeter isn't damped by the amplifier at low frequencies. When I posted a question about it, Andy replied that Al Sekela had pointed out that this is a problem with first and third order (parallel) networks, but not second and fourth, since the drivers are shunted in the out-of-band frequencies as they are in the first order series network:
