I agree with you 100%. I was making some assumptions.
Instead of thinking about electrical phase, I'm thinking about the actual direction of the forces on the wires on the mylar.
Yes, in theory if your drivers are non-interacting resistors, the linear circuit theory shows same forward transfer function for series and parallel just as the web pages show.
The real issue comes when the drivers are not actually independent resistors only dissipating heat.
Drivers have inertia, couple to compressible air, and unique to maggies, are physically connected.
