I changed the way my (music) subs are implemented - they were connected parallel to my MMGs (high level) which were running full range. I decided to fiddle around with my pre/pro's bass management and ended up mad at myself for not trying it sooner. The MMGs seem 'happier' now that they're rolling off at 60Hz (for music - in HT, I'm using the 80Hz THX setting). What's even better is that I can now adjust the level of the subs via my remote. The default setting (in some cases) is that determined by the calibration routine and a microphone, but I can temporarily raise or lower the level - select another source (or that one again) and all settings return to default. Each mode allows for different defaults - pretty cool. So, the answer to your question is 60Hz for music and 80Hz for movies.
