RE: New OLD MMGs - Many Wow's - 2 big concerns

The least amount of listening was with a Bryston pre and Bryston 7B-ST mono blocks. This was brief (2 hours)and SOLELY devoted to confirm what three receivers had revealed. I tend to agree with a comment by PG, modded MMGs would probably reveal more of my Denon's limitations.

Amazingly, however, a friend's 4+ year old flagship Pioneer receiver (can't remember model, I am away from home) delivered imaging like I had never expected...wide and 3D DEEP with a couple of SACDs. The Bryston set could probably have done as much or better imaging but the rooms were different. My Denon, in my environment, manages wide imaging...hardly any depth. But, yet again, different locations.

BTW, my MMGs + Denon do surprisingly good bass in my aprox 12x24 l-room.

So, the plan, assuming that along the way I can fix the problems I see:
1. Do the easy/cheap external mods first.
2. Blow a few bucks (up to $150)in upgrading the crossover AND make it external so that step #3 becomes easier when I am ready.
3. Bi-amp them.

I forgot to mention that a center speaker may need to be added soon...well, more like late this year.

This outline could be heavily affected by all your great input. Thanks!
