Re: what are useful MGIIIa mods?

I'm quite surprised at the comment about the XO-1. I use one as do several others I corresponded with and they are, as I am, quite pleased. Granted I also use a big sub but the sound is great.

Granted there are pluses and minuses to either active or passive crossovers but to say that it (their own XO-1) doesn't work well.... mmmm! I like to know who you talked to at Magnepan.

As far as mods go, unquestionably the best bang for the buck is to upgrade the caps to audiophile grade. Next the inductors, and finally rewiring the whole shebang with Cardas wire. I stopped with the caps!
