Naw, it has not died at all. Part of it, I am sure, is the sobering thought of risking a nice-sounding pair of Maggies for going into partially uncharted terriritory...
...which some of us would still love to do. But, smartly. So, we have to plan ahead, gather some numbers and resources, and go forth from there.
To this effect, Josh plans to do some measurements on his MMGs. I gather he's been busier than expected these days. HOWEVER, I bet that Josh's real holdup is the same one I went through until just over a week ago. The idea of breaking apart my old-version set of MMGs to measure things -- thereby missing valuable "music time" -- is not enticing. Now he has to do the same to his new-version MMGs. You know how it is. In the midst of busy work, not having the music available for the "brief listening breaks" is a scary thought.
Some good numbers have already been gathered on the 12s and I suspect that, soon, the beefy questions are going to be the "how best to do it" and "who will be the first one(s)".
Being a team effort, at least the pioneers will not feel so alone. The rest of the gang will sing to them on the phone to partly make up for the temporary loss : - ))
