OK, I'm interested as I have some MG-1's slated for repair this summer, but doesn't the length of the foil need to be exact for each model? If so then what model is the same as MG-1?
If the foil can just be wrapped around the tight radius at the top and bottom (like the regular wire does) then the length is a non-issue.
Does anybody know why regular AL foil from the grocery store cannot be used providing one can consistently cut it the to correct width, knows what the width is and what the overall R of the foil is when done (assume it's 5 ohms, same as the wire)?
