RE: Large Format Panel Type Speakers and Image SizeIMO

Satie- Thanks for the response but power is not the issue. I narrowed my choices in amps down to VTL Siefried monos, the VTL 450's and the S-400. After listening to all three I was convinced that the S-400 was the best match musically. Also a few bench test showed that the S-400 can deliver over 400 wpc and VTL confirmed that as their reference stereo amplifier would drive them with ease. I went to Timbre Audio in Houston a few years ago and listened to the S-400 driving the 30.7's and it was phenomenal. I did get the S-400 with the Gold Lion KT88 because they did better on the bottom end.VTL offers the KT88 as a option to the 6550 tubes. It also doesn't hurt that my room is 14.8 W x 16.8 L x 8.5 H. Ultimately i don't know if 30.7's would fit in my listening room. If you haven't seen the S-400 it is a beast at 250lbs which to me is it's biggest downside. I'm to old to move it by myself. LOL!
