I use Class D amps on my 3.6 setup, and they sound awesome. The PS amp is overpriced though.
Look around for amps that use the 500W (1000W into 4 ohms) ICEPower module. Your 3.6's will make good use of the extra power, and you shouldn't have to pay that much for them. I found a pair of monoblocks on Audiogon for about $1,000 each.
