another planar post from another non-planar guy!?!

I don't think I have ever posted here, but things are a little different today.
It's happening... I have, with the help of a friend and a friend of a friend, finally acquired a pair of Quad ESL-57's. I am oh-so-psyched about this. I have much to learn, but I have a fundamental question.

I know the Quad tube amps, and the Marantz 8B, are good matches for these. Unfortunately, I have neither. I do have a nice EL84 PP amp (EICO HF-81) and several amps and receivers using PP 7591A's.

I haven't ever heard anyone rave about any 7591 amp and Quad ESL's. The power rating of a 7591 would seem "about right" for Quads(?). Would anyone here recommend any 7591 amp for them?

Or... if this were your choice of amplifiers, which would you choose?

EICO HF-81
Fisher 500
Sherwood S-5500II (or is it S-5000II? whatever; it's PP 7591)
Sansui 1000A
Scott LK-72

I hope it's not the Scott... it has a preamp "issue", but maybe it's time for me to fix it.

all the best,
mrh
