I also own BG Radia 520 speakers. They have a passive crossover at 325 hz plus a notch filter to remove the resonance frequency of the ribbon driver. You should retain the notch filter when you remove the passive crossover. You may want to experiment with the biamp crossover frequency but 500 hz seems too high.I also plan an active crossover biamp upgrade in the future and look forward to hearing how your project turns out.
