I really like sound of the Marchand XM-9, but don't consider anything other than the premium version, with highest grade op-amps, etc.If you buy the kit, be forewarned that it is probably not for absolute beginners. Parts identification was confusing, necessitating several phone calls to the people at Marchand, and I found it a challenge to have to jump back and forth between three (!) different manuals.
