Active Biamp Maggie 2.6R with pro x-overs

I'd like to biamp my 2.6R's. The stock crossover doesn't allow this so I'm considering an active pro unit. A pro unit from Behringer, Rane or DBX is attractive for the price and allows me to keep the system with balanced xlr inputs.
These units are 24db L-R crossovers so are different than the stock x-overs.
Will there be a problem integrating the speakers with these different x-overs?
Is the quality of these X-overs not worth the effort.
Can't spring for a DEQX right now but a behringer dcx 2496 or DBX driverack PA are possible if they are significantly better.
Thanks in advance for replies.
