The amp I use was built by the designer as he needed something to drive his Apogee Diva's..... Here are specs per the manufacturer...In stereo operation power = 200 w rms / ch.
Dynamic power / ch = 300w @ 8 ohms, 550w @4 ohms, 820w @ 2 ohms.
Peak short circuit current=150 amps with a damping factor of 130.In bridged mono operation power output is 700w short term
Dynamic power is 1000w @ 8 ohms, 1600w @ 4 ohms, & 2000w @ 2 ohms.
Peak short circuit current = 120 amps with a damping factor of 45.Drives my CLSIIz's just fine....
When I replaced my other amps with this one, I noticed the difference in soundstage and fuller sound. And the old amps used to run fairly hot (300w/Ch @ 4 Ohms). Replacement amp barely gets warm...
Power and current with Planars is the way to go. Shop around see if you can listen to them first, then make your purchase as to what you like and what you can afford.
