Garlic, planted around Halloween last year, with a French variety called Music and a variety called Carpathian.
Two tomato plants are usual, a grape tomato called Juliet and Park's Whopper. The grape tomato starts about July 1 and continues until first frost. By that time, it has really long branches and even the squirrels can't eat enough to help eat them all. It's productive to say the least. Basil gets planted near the tomato plants. According to other gardeners, that's an Italian strategy to get better tasting crops.
One bell pepper and at least two hot peppers such as chile de arbol, jalapeno, and serrano.
The lettuce and snow peas will go in during the next couple weeks.
I always plant some Marketmore 76 cucumbers that are usually slow at first but then overdo it to the point where I just can't eat enough. The August weather around here usually does them in.
