I think the brand was "Strong"? Maybe? It was made in Japan. I already trashed it or I'd look again for you.
The bike is a Bianchi. Although it's a Japanese Bianchi. Back in early 1980's Bianchi introduced a line of more affordable bikes that were made in Japan from Tange steel and mostly Suntour components. I bought the bike from a co-worker in mid 1980's and replaced/rebuilt everything with Shimano 105 stuff. New spokes/hubs/crankset ... all of it new, but I do not recall now if I replaced that seat post then. Reasonably certain that I did not replace that bit back then - which means it's probably 40 y/o or so.
