the info at the link suggests, the average price to put one up is ~$2m, or $1.3m per megawatt of capacity. Add to that yearly care and feeding of ~$50k.
If capacity is 1mw, or 1,000kw, and it runs 24x7, it'd produce 24,000kw hours per day. Assume 4 cents per kwhr, that'd be $960/day x 365 = $350k/yr. If it cost $1.3m, payback is more like 5 years including maintenance. $1.3m + $0.25m = $1.55m. At $0.35m/yr in revenue, then b/e is somewhere around 5 yrs.
Then again I could have the math AFU. And there's a more than one key assumption in there that could make payback a lot longer.
