Those fence boards were 1"x 4" when I put them up. Probably closer to 3.5" by now, but yeah, it was small shock to look out the window and see that hawk. I'm no ornithologist, but pretty sure it's a Red-shouldered Hawk. According to the book, they're supposed to be a tad smaller than Red-tailed.

Either way, I had to convince the cat that he did NOT want to go out on the deck.
