How would they know if you had batteries? Is it enforced?
You might want batteries in the case of outages where a medical device might be required 24/7.
OTOH, right now, there's no need for me to get batteries until NEM3.0 comes out and excess production is paid at a 75% discount. Then, the key would be to have enough power for 4-9PM when SDG&E charges its highest time of use rates. Even then, the cost needs to go way down. I also have reservations on the life of the batteries. Replacing them every 5 or 10 years would surely not make sense at the current prices.
