It looks like rates have gone up by 3-4X since 2012...

Well, it doesn't get real hot typically. Usually, we'll get a little Indian Summer where it's in the 90s for a week or two. My office bakes in the late afternoon and it's still tolerable, but in my old age, why not kick on the A/C? We have more solar production than we use.

In the winter, we'll get over night lows in the mid 40s with highs in the high 60s or more likely mid 70s. Most of the heating is to take off the morning chill and then again when the sun goes down.

I just looked back at the gas bill and the average amount was $53.62 in 2012 with a high of $105.53 in December and about $16 in summer to cover the water heater, dryer and stove. The average gas bill this year was $130.25, an increase of 150% with a doubling in January.
