It's hard to say. Syncing seems to be exponentially slower as the drive size increases. It laos seems to be that CPU and memory are major issues as I did notice the one NAS is a bit quicker and has a faster CPU. While it wasn't huge, syncing was a bit faster with more memory.
Another difference is that I run RAID6 on the bigger NAS and only RAID5 on the other, so you've got 2 drives that you can lose versus just one which likely makes a difference. The RAID6 NAS took twice as long. It went from 8TB to 12TB drives versus the other doing 4TB to 8TB.
