Too low compared to the rest of the world.

So is price of a McDonald's hamburger.

Too low to encourage the popular take up of smaller more fuel efficient cars.

That's not what folks here want. Make your own choice.

Too low to encourage more public transport investment.

Makes economic sense only in large urban areas. Doesn't apply to the vast majority of Americans.

Too low to reduce urban sprawl.

Choose to avoid urban sprawl.
