Most folks can't afford the weather tax....

Apartments in not the nicest parts of town are $2,000 for a two bedroom. Rents of $3,000 to $4,000 are not uncommon.

So anyone with a family needs an income of $6,000 to $10,000 a month to reasonably afford to live in California. Of course, gas, electricity and water is also close to twice as much too.

So even at $15/hour, that's only $30,000 or $2,500 a month. With two lower wage workers, you still can't reasonably afford a two bedroom apartment or afford children. Sure, a coder in Silicon Valley makes good money, but they can't afford to live there either with a 2b, 1ba house nearby costing over a million.

Go up to LA and homeless tent communities can be found under every freeway overpass.

Manufactures have gone for the most part. All you have is coders and companies that import junk from China along with service workers in restaurants, hotels and so forth which want to do those jobs.
